What is the
Compassion Project?
01
Connection
A place to feel welcomed, heard, and remembered. Sometimes people don’t need answers. They simply need another human being willing to show up.
02
Compassion
Human connection cannot fix every problem, but it can make something heavy a little easier to carry. Notice. Listen. Remember. Stay.
03
Hope
Hope does not always arrive as something enormous. Sometimes it begins with a conversation, a cup of coffee, or simply hearing, “I’m glad you’re here.”

Who Is This For?
The person carrying something heavy and wondering if anyone notices.
The person grieving. The person who feels alone. The person struggling. The person who has been strong for everyone else for so long that nobody remembers to ask how they are doing.
And the ordinary person who simply wants to become better at showing up for someone else.
YOU ARE WELCOME HERE

Ways We Can Connect

There is no single right way to need another person. Some days you may want to talk. Some days you may want to listen. And some days you may simply want somewhere to be.

What You'll Find Here
A place to talk.
A place to listen.
A place to remember.
A place to hope.
A place to simply be.
You don't have to know what you need before you come.

A Promise From Me
I can’t promise to have the right words.
I can’t promise to have all the answers.
But I can promise to listen.
I can promise to remember.
I can promise to show up.
You were never meant to carry everything alone.
Pinky promise.

Meet The Founder
Kimberly LaFramboise
Founder, WÓWAUŊŠILA: The Compassion Project
I never set out to become an expert on grief. I simply spent years standing beside people experiencing it.
Through funeral service, I learned that grief does not end when the funeral is over. I learned that people rarely need perfect words. More often, they need someone willing to listen, remember, and simply show up.
WÓWAUŊŠILA: The Compassion Project grew from that belief and from one simple promise: no one should have to carry the hardest parts of life alone.

Compassion Doesn’t End When the Funeral Is Over.
WÓWAUŊŠILA: The Compassion Project was created around one simple belief: care should not disappear when the service ends, the crisis passes, or the rest of the world moves on.
We can remember the person who is grieving months later.
We can notice the person who has gone quiet.
We can sit beside someone struggling with addiction, loneliness, loss, or simply a hard season of life.
We can learn to show up for one another without needing to fix one another.
That is the mission.
Not to become experts.
Not to have all the answers.
But to build communities where compassion becomes something we practice, teach, and pass on.
Ordinary people. Extraordinary hearts.

Compassion Has No Boundaries
Grief does not belong to one culture.
Loneliness does not choose an age.
Hard seasons do not care about income, faith, background, or where someone comes from.
Neither should compassion.
WÓWAUŊŠILA is a promise to see the person before the problem.
There is room here for the grieving.
The struggling.
The recovering.
The lonely.
The overwhelmed.
The person who simply needs someone to notice.
No judgment. No prerequisites. Just humanity.
